Last night's PBS News Hour had a report on the climate clock recently installed in Manhattan, a block away from Madison Square Garden and Macy's. The counter displays total worldwide emissions of carbon dioxide, which are increasing at the rate of 800 metric tons a second. The current number on the display is over 3.64 trillion. A desktop widget of the counter is available for download.

Seems to require Java, or something; with my browser setup it didn't work. Is there one I could use for my site that's (at most) Javascript?
The desktop version is Java, but there's apparently a Flash 9.0 version they have imbedded in their main page. With minimal hacking, I wasn't able to get it to display; you might want to try their Contact Us link to get more info. If you find out anything, please let me know.
BTW, thanx for the link.
