The 18 days with lows of 75°+ at Lubbock have now nearly doubled the previous record of 10 in 1978 and 1966. The 36 days at Childress are in 2nd place.

Hottest July on record in Oklahoma by a full degree. The mean temperature for the state was 89.1F, breaking the previous record of 88.1F, set in 1954.
