Mid Atlantic/Northeast Heat Wave Goes Out With a Bang
20 New April Monthly Records Set

As noted yesterday, Portland, Maine set an April monthly high temperature record by 3°. The National Climatic Data Center reports that a total of 20 April high temperature records were set on April 28 in 5 states: Maryland, Maine, New York, Pennsylvania, and West Virgina. These were part of the 38 new monthly records set since the heat wave began in California on April 19.
